Dalmatian wine

The hinterland of Šibenik is a spread of hills, stone and sun-blessed vineyards. Here intense reds such as babić are made, along with fresh whites that tell the story of the land. The local cellars open their doors for guided tastings, among barrels and old stone vaults.

You visit one or more estates, hearing the story of families who have worked the same soil for generations. The glasses are paired with cheeses, prosciutto and olive oil produced nearby. The pace is slow and sociable, far from mass tourism.

The route adapts to the season, from the autumn harvest to the first blossom of spring. If you wish you can stop for a light lunch at the winery, with traditional dishes. Back at the villa, a bottle chosen during the visit can accompany dinner.
